PARENTS VISIT US IN MANY WAYS

As you know this last weekend was Parent’s Visiting Weekend at Taylor’s college. Now never having been to college as an actual student, and being a Freshman Mom never having been as a mom either, I was not sure what to expect. I did receive plenty of emails from the school informing me of all [...]

FRESHMAN FAMILY WEEKEND

So we are off to Boston for Family Weekend. A first for me..

WHEN THE RELATIONSHIP IS ABOUT THE RELATIONSHIP

Most of you reading this are old enough to remember that time when you were dating or perhaps some of you still are, when you got a point in a relationship when the entire dialogue about the relationship was in fact about the relationship. In fact the relationship becomes entirely about the relationship.

OUT OF PANDORAS BOX SOMETIMES POPS THE TRUTH

First off, count down over no Hermes bag for me. But I this is one I did not want.

FAMILY SILVER

Most of you who read this are old enough to remember the Iranian Hostage Crisis in the late seventies and the daily countdown telling the world how many days they were in captivity.

QUOTES ON PARENTING

I was going through some quotes today for my book.

Thought instead of writing anything new I would share them with all of you.

Have a great day!

FRESHMAN MOM

A HUNDRED YEARS OF MATERNAL MONEY MADNESS

As I said yesterday I am going to focus this week on the high voltage topic of families and money. There is no doubt many freshman moms and kids are struggling with financial issues; questions of all sorts and navigating un-chartered dollar infested waters teaming with giant waves.

WE ALL MAKE MISTAKES

It’s five forty-seven in the morning and I cannot sleep. I decided better than tossing, turning and fretting my time would be better spent at the keyboard.

I figure I can get in a blog in before my breakfast meeting.

THREE-DAY WEEKEND

Back in the summer when I got the calendars for both girls I did what I always do, I wrote in my agenda all their holiday breaks parent teacher conference days and three-day weekends.

THE TEARS OF A CLOWN

I’m writing today to let people know I am not a basket case. I might very well be a case, but certainly not of the basket variety.

ERASED

I know Freshman Mom has been on hiatus, what with the memorial and blogging about that last week. A few people wrote in yesterday wondering where it was.

Things bumble along in Freshman Land, insights you gain and try and carry on with you from week to week sometimes work and sometimes don’t.

FRESHMAN MOM REQUESTS

As some of you know I am in the final stages of completing a book for Harper Collins on how fifty is not the new thirty.

FRESHMAN MOM

FRESHMAN MOM

Blogging about letting go and what it's like to see my first child leave the nest.
