PRE-ORDER BETWEEN A ROCK AND A HOT PLACE

THAILAND AND TEMPLE FEVER

It’s New Years Day here, one hundred and one degrees. It’s just after midnight at home where I hear it’s hovering in the single digits.

We’ve spent the last two days trying to get into the Temples but New Years here is not a secular holiday, it’s a deeply religious one and it feels like the entire country turns up in Bangkok to get a face to face with the Emerald Buddha.

I have just had a total techno failure. I spent two hours last night writing a blog. I came running back from lunch to post it only to find out that my temporary Microsoft Word trial version, which they said had thirty days left, suddenly quit in the middle of cutting and pasting. It means I will have to write all blogs on the site directly and somehow retrieve what I wrote last night which will probably mean Lucy  reading it to  me while I type. If anyone knows Bill Gates, tell him I am pissed off and glad I sold the stock.

I will do the short hand version: we had a great time in Bangkok. I will repost in two days but will more than likely have to do Cambodia first. Like anyone really cares.

I will now see if my camera battery is charged. It ran out of batteries at Angkor Wat today, not a good techy day!

But a magical time.

I will be back once I sort out all these details.

Great now I can’t upload the photos…..I will have to return to all of this, but at least you know I’m trying.

Freshman mom needs a course in computers and cameras. See the problem is for 20 years I have been a Mac person and for travel Glenn got me a little Sony Vaio that weighs one pound, but is a ton of trouble.

Off to more sights….to be continued….
