PRE-ORDER BETWEEN A ROCK AND A HOT PLACE

PARIS, FASHION WEEK, SNEAKERS AND BALLOONS!

It does feel like we were just here. And it must have been fairly recently as we are staying in the hotel next door to the one were in October and I can still long onto their WiFi as the one in this hotel is not so swift. Like it shuts down every five minutes. So I’m logged on from the one next door and they have not caught on.

50@50: #44 CHRISTINA HAAG

Actress/Author CHRISTINA HAAG talks about life, love, relationships and reinvention at midlife in this edition of FIFTY@FIFTY. Haag, at 51, has reinvented herself and got out of the ‘safe zone’ of what she was most comfortable doing, and written a book that was inside her and itching to come out. At 43, she was diagnosed with cancer and it was dealing with the fears and the unknown which allowed her to find the courage and develop a great deal of faith to transform.

WHY DAVY JONES MATTERED

As most everyone knows the most popular Monkee Davy Jones died suddenly of a heart attack yesterday.
People seemed genuinely upset by this. People who most likely had not thought about Jones or The Monkees in years were uploading and listening to I’m A Believer and Last Train to Clarksville.

WHY DID THE ARTIST HAVE TO SWEEP THE OSCARS?

OK, I’m pissed off that The Artist took most of the Oscars the other night. I don’t care that much about the Oscars at this stage and according to the ratings neither does as much of the world. But could someone please tell me when they became global awards. I thought they were American awards.

THIS AND THAT

So I have been pretty much chained to my desk as I’m working like mad on the Lifetime movie of my book. I haven’t been out and about that much and I haven’t really been thinking about too much else. OK PINTEREST. But it stops there. It’s now six- twenty and the Oscar red carpet starts in forty minutes. We have to get comfy decide between Thai and pizza and figure out which room to watch it in. BTW so thrilled Billy Crystal is back. All I want to see. But then I remembered it was Sunday night and I need a Monday blog.

PIN UP GIRLS and boys….

The online community falls into four very distinct camps these days, people who are Pinterest addicts; they pin compulsively, randomly, and passionately. There are those who sign up for Pinterest, I think primarily because like with many sites they feel they should and then they proceed to either ignore it or follow others who are pinning their days away. There are those who have heard of it, though they are not quite sure what it is. Is it a sewing site? Is it a spa in the Pines? Is it some new mediation class one can take online? And then there are those under a rock who don’t know WTF Pinterest is.

FASHION BLOGGERS TAKE OVER THE FRONT ROW

There are tens of thousands of bloggers on all topics swimming daily in the seas of cyberspace. From sports to food to weird sex you name it endless people are glued to a laptop somewhere giving their opinions about it and more often than not taking photos of it.

Aside from the daily newspaper and magazines such as Time and Newsweek taking a giant kick in the pants, as by the time any of them arrive it’s not just yesterday’s news, but it’s often last hours news, I think the fashion bloggers have totally changed the face and the way we read about fashion, absorb fashion and in fact the way many people now wear their clothes.

REED KRAKOFF’S FALL COLLECTION NEW YORK ~ FASHION WEEK

Fashion Week in NYC is a big deal. Fashion Week to the women and the men who care is like the NBA playoffs for those who like basketball. The editors and the photographers, and the celebrities and now we can add on the fashion bloggers who have become huge ( i secretly would like to be one of those) and the fashionistas who have become their own kind of celebrity. And I think perhaps thanks to shows like Gossip Girl and Sex in the City, designers are the new rock stars. Certainly if you care about clothes they are.

WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME YOU…?

I stayed home all day today to attack some of the little chores that I’ve had on my to do list for awhile.. Some of them seem really stupid but not only do I feel incredibly zen while doing them, they make me feel better about my world and the world at large. That is the curse or the blessing of the OCD person.

But for those of you will a few minutes or hours or even a day to spare — When was the last time you

THREE CAMERAS – MULTIPLE SETTINGS – ONE HEADACHE

When you last left me with my camera situation I had come back from my class with Jeffrey Apoian whose name I am now spelling correctly, with an apology tacked on for misspelling it in the last blog. I will be emailing him right after I finish this to sign up for another class.
